You could use a 100 shot and not even brake boost the thing. Just run a window switch from 2000 to 4500 and stab it off idle. That should spool the turbo quick and still give you a killer 60' as well as get rid of the delay from the cam. Once you get past 4500 the nitrous wouldn't even spray again the rest of the run since the 80E has such nice and close gearing (very little rpm drop on the shifts). What are the cam spec's?

218/214 on a 114 I have plans on advancing the cam this weekend. Not sure how much it will help. I'm getting mixed reports on that. Most claim a max of 500rpm drop in power band. And everyone I have talked too says something different. Some say I need to go larger, some say smaller, and some say I need a converter(those people dont know me very well lol. Stock vert FTMFW) BUT... Seams how advancing is pretty cheap, I'm going to try that first.

I have thought about the nitrous, but I dont like the idea of spraying at that low of rpm. I was thinking a 2-step might would work well...

You know Zippy, I'm starting to second guess my scr choice... of course if I would have known I was going to get a larger turbo, I would have went lower. My fuel mileage isnt what I was hoping for ether.

I really dont believe this is a turbo issue as the STS GT-67 wouldnt pull until 4,000 ether...

Have any thoughts Zippy?

Maybe I should just sell the whole f-ing thing....

I did another few clips of video tonight I have to fire up the old desktop to get the video off the camera.. Maybe this weekend I'll do it...

Wow, that cam really isn't nearly big enough to have an issue with low rpm torque. Is it not making enough boost down low or is it just sluggish even with boost?

I can brake stall 2500 and see anywhere from 4-6 psi of boost. And yea I agree that baby cam should work well down low. My only thought is the ivc time is to late (43*)... It doesnt seam to respond to boost well at all down there, and at the 4,000 rpm line the thing comes unglued at almost any speed. Once I get the ve back in line after the cam advance, I plan on doing some extreme spark timing tuning... Who knows maybe the crappy *** engine builder put the cam in upside down

I have that same cam in my 5.3 and starts pulling right around 2500 to 3000rpm with 4l80e. I think 80e suck up low end power with the tall 1st gear. I've had the 4l80e for week now and still like the 60e better.

You have a 214/218 or a 218/214? I have no issues with the 80e first gear been with that trans for four years now

with the lil 60mm turbo remotemount the 80E gearing helped spool it really good. now with the 76mm rear mount and the cam it doesnt hit till 3500 then it pulls extremly hard.
be glad when i get my tune squared away..

Cant wait to see how everything else works out for ya!

Sorry i was off a little bit on the cam 216/218 114lsa .561/.562. This my first week with 4l80e and just seems the truck slower moving and take longer for spool in first gear. Then again it might be time to put new motor in. She just hit 160k yesterday. I went through my first tank and only drop down to 15.1mpg from 16mpg.

41* vs. 43* IVC event any advance in the cam? and who picked it? A taller first "should" actually help the turbo spool..

Well this cam that i picked out when n/a because i didn't want to lose bottom end.
We did not advance when me, thunder550, and kbracing installed. It a comp cam part#54-000-11. What does IVC mean. I have cam card if you want more detail.
