One more thing, i have about 500miles on it now, and i have only drop about 1mpg. Not tooo bad considering the size of the converter

Thanks man, you gotta come by and drive it! The 80 is soooo nice, if i would have ridden in one prior, i would have swapped a long time ago.

Also i sat in stop and go traffic the other day for about 45min, the trans temp never got above 145*. After that i did about 3-4 WOT runs the trans never got above 140*.... Cruising around it sits at 110*.... I was shocked, especially with that converter and how hot everyone says the 80 runs... Maybe rollerizing the transmission really helped, i dunno... But it definitely runs cool!!

Great thread Corey. I went from a NV3500, to TH400, to 700r4, to 4L80e with a converter and 80e/converter setup is the ****. Just like you said, the shifts are much better than the 700/60e and they feel bulletproof. I'll be watching to see what comes next.

those rounded off head bolts are from drive line bind . . .
