I was talking about lowering the rear. I know the gate doesn't work anymore.

I figured thats what you meant. I will probly get another bed and paint it to match, that way I have a factory bed as well. I went with the shaved lights and tailgate because my first vehicle was an 85 that looked exactly the same as this one. It was a ton of work considering I shaved it all from sheet metal myself.

Should get another short bed and make a matching trailer out of it with a functioning tailgate. Then you will have the best of both worlds.

I like the truck, looks good. The beauty of the custom vehicle realm is making it all your own, to crap with anyone else that doesn't like it. As long as the work is done well, I will respect it.

Should be fun with the motor swap.

I couldnt get the trans mounted today, forgot the tool to enlarge the holes on the flywheel. Good news is, my headers, fuel pump and regulator showed up today. I will try again tomorrow!

I got the flywheel, spacer and bolts from Jegs. I didnt take any pictures before I installed them though. I think the total cost was around $130 or so.

Well I had another change of plans today. My original intention was to put the LS1 and 6speed into my 69 Camaro. I needed another daily driver so I decided to swap the combo into my 86 Silverado. Well today I was able to pick up a 2004 Tahoe with a 5.3 and 4l60 in it for $800. It only has 80K miles on it so I went for it. Now the LS1 and 6speed can be put into my Camaro and the 5.3 and auto will be going into the truck. Luckily everything I bought(besides the flywheel and spacer) can be used in the 5.3. Delayed my plans for another week or so, but it will be better for me in the long run.
