the slip **** is fine until you secure it with a U bolt and it'll never come apart again.

Agreed U bolts get over tightened create a lip/joint that stops them from coming apart easily.
I only snug a u bolt if I know it needs to come back apart.
Or
Use band clamps.

Ideally I'd wanna weld some vband clamps on but I haven't started welding on stuff yet to be comfortable enough to start cutting and welding a perfectly good exhaust.

Keep in mind a
Vband clamp chews up more room.
A 4" pipe will need around 6" clearance all the way around.

Also when you do. Use the pipe as alignment. You should have a small amount of tubing sticking out say 1/4" or 1/2 the thickness of 1 flange.
That way the other side will slip up and on and stay and be aligned properly.

well...truck is still getting painted slowly but surely. I decided to order some et street radials 295/65/15 today. I'm going to be doing the corbeau seats with atomics brackets and also adding some type of roll cage. I wanna keep the truck as street as possible (didnt want 2 bars out the back window) but with a good safety aspect. Other than that just need to get the bed back on the truck and get the driveshaft. Motor cranks right up. 55 psi oil at idle. Cant wait to drive this thing.

No my brother n law is doing the paint. He is a paint/body man. Fixed all the dents and dings made everything smooth again and repainting with a Toyota super white. Primed, sealed, base coat and clear coat. Using ppg products.
