This truck runs mad with the 4l60e.. but for how long

The power levels I'm shooting for, I just don't want to have a thought that I might cook another 4l60e.

I will say though I've been happy with the factory 4l60e, I've beaten the **** outta it.
i will show up at your house and full running start drop kick you if you dont 80e this thing

40k, just the ugly way with rubber lines slip fit over factory.

So the 4l80e.. I don't think I put much detail into it:

All new gaskets, seals, bushings
Raybestos "stage 1" red frictions
Kolene Coated Steels
New bands
New pistons
Rollerize tailshaft
Rollerize front hub w/ sonnax billet
Sonnax TCC regulator valve
New solenoids
Sonnax Trans boost valve kit
Sonnax plastic checkballs
Sonnax regulated pressure valve
Dual feed direct
Jakes hardened input
Jakes recal
th400 intermediate spring retainer
I'm forgetting stuff

This is my first trans build, I've probably taken it back apart three times already to change or check something over. I have it done up to the direct drum, hopefully it wont ever come back apart after this. Waiting on a new forward hub as mines eaten up from the usual input teflon

Endplay is pretty much perfect, clutch clearances within spec as well.

When I first got this, this trans was very wet. Pan was almost full of water, lotta rust inside. Thought it was scrap. Everything cleaned up extremely well

Looks beautiful man. Trans always feel overwhelming at first then halfway through I feel like I got this. Then when I put it in the truck I’m like what did I do wrong lol.

Bad pics but started powdercoating my charge pipes and clamps.

While waiting on trans parts I started brainstorming and decided to change a few things around. Won a set of factory GM performance valve covers, encourages me to finally relocate my coils. Not sure where yet, probably down along the frame rail somewhere or under the core support.

Welding in 2 10an bungs. Scrapping the giant amazon catch can for a smaller mighty mouse.

Also considering scrapping the huge coolant overflow for a smaller more round can based style. Should clean everything up a little better.

Better knock those old locating dowel pins out of the trans case or it wont bolt up to your motor...

The pins are supposed to stay in the block side.
