I'm glad my mistakes are benefiting someone!
I think I've learned more of what not to do and what direction not to take from this build than anything else but it's all been fun if not heartbreaking at times.
Make sure the shop that is working on your truck does two things with the vents.
1) make sure there are baffles where they tapped into the valve covers so that any oil splatter will not get dumped out but stay in the valve train.
2) Ensure the hose that vents to atmosphere is long enough to go past the engine and frame rails. Mine was too short and dumped oil on the headers which is where I got all my smoke from! And there were no baffles on one of the vents which is why I saw so much oil.

Hard to believe how much pressure is in the crankcase, also not much comes out other than air from my crankcase up to 14-15psi, after that is when I start seeing some oil come out. So you should be good at lower boost levels...

when are you taking it to the track Julian?
Maybe it is! My "civic" has nice strong valve stems though...unlike some people! Now who was that again?

If all goes well I'll be at the track saturday, just don't expect good times from me, just good trap speed . Because of lots of different quirks in my set-up (some intentional and others not) my low end is rather weak for now. But I'm hoping for trap speeds between 116-120mph.
We'll see!

LQ9 actually, my thread topic is a misnomer, my engine is actually 364ci not 370. Sorry
Your talking to the wrong person concerning gas mileage, my truck was not meant to be fuel efficient in the least bit! Couldn't tell you what you could expect from it.

So you really think the gear swap was worth it. I have 4.10 in mine right now, but have a set of 3.73 i could trade someone.

After driving around for the last few days with it I can definitely say that yes it was! My truck feels stronger in every gear in AND out of boost which I wasn't expecting. I'm seeing a good load on the engine in every gear now and am able to make full boost in every gear but first which I'm still seeing 16lbs. Even around town driving it's much more enjoyable. Feels similar to dropping from a 3600 TC to a 2600 TC. I would recommend if for anyone pushing alot of boost or who have alot of Torque.
And now I won't be shifting into 4th 120 feet before the beams at the track! Should be at the top of 3rd at around 120mph...hopefully!

Sooo....thought I'd throw up an update
Last shop that had my truck was Haddad motorsports.
I asked them to do 4 things, Wideband install, change my air filter (I was lazy and figured since they were under there anyways), Crankcase evac and switch out the A1000 for a lonnie's dual intake.

1) Wideband I told them specifically to put it after the turbo and they went ahead and installed it in the crossover from the driver's side headers just before the Y. Meaning that it see's 3-4 bar of pressure which skews it's readings and is therefore inaccurate.

2) Replace air filter and it couldn't stay on more than a few weeks before it fell off. The problem is remember that I have a butt turbo and my turbo is about 10 inches off the ground facing forward...so any rocks and dirt and plastic bag or basically anything that I run over....SUCKED into the turbo. It is a big deal for STS guys not to have a filter on the turbo. So bascially they couldn't fasten a filter correctly to a turbo!
I only saw it this last monday so I would guess I was running around like that for at least a couple/few weeks.

3) Crankase evac they just half assed it and instead of doing a catch can or a vacuume assist like previously discussed they just drilled a couple holes in my engine and connected a hose to keep the oil from running down the block. EXCEPT they lead that hose, all 2 feet of it to dump right onto my headers!!! MMMmmmmburning oil smell!!! Delicious!

4) Fuel pump system apparently was done well except the didn't bother to secure any of the lines and filters to the truck. When I put a filter back on my truck I noticed my fuel filter was hanging about an inch off the ground. They let the strength of the 8 gauge braided fuel lines support the filter. Well it starts to sag and now was smacking against the ground over bumps or dips in the road!
Can't wait till I get my garage up to speed so I can finally do my own work!!

Sorry to hear about the problems. It is a shame anyone would let work like that represent their shop.

It'd be nice if I had a friend who was close by with a lift in his garage!

Ummm...OH SNAP!!

I know what you mean bro, we've had this talk before, many times. I bought a pool table two weeks ago and I sanded and painted it about a half dozen times trying to get it perfect. My roomates are like WTF why isn't it done already,it look perfect...not to me it doesn't, time to get my sander again!
Sorry I missed your call, I'll hit you up in a bit.
