Here's another potential problem.
Noticed when I was under the truck that the drive shaft is rubbing against a crossmember.
Here's what I mean...

Kinda blurry but you can seat some wear rings on the shaft and some scuff marks n the crossmember. I know the drive shaft can shift up when put under load or whatever but these pictures were taken with my rear suspension fully compressed. So there wasn't much more play in the suspension. These pics are from the rear of the drive shaft right before the rear end yoke.

I have to get the rear-end figured out before I can tackle the drive shaft. Brian says wilwood is testing a mounting bracket right now. It's taking forever though!

Your shaft probably hits under accel when your axle twists from torque. The pinion will twist up another inch or two.

your driveshaft is probably junk now. with aluminum shafts they arent that strong from factory and to get a nick or deep scratches could cause them to come apart or have serve vibrations

Thanks for sharing the pics. I'm relived to see the oil leaked out instead of burned out. I've got a replacement pan on the way.

The driveshaft looks grim. You definitely need to add hoops and an uprated shaft. For now take it easy.......... no wheelies

I've gotta say your engine sounds really tough! Very throttle responsive with that Vic Jr.

The rear gear change will make a very nice difference and then the serious tuning can begin.

Richard
