Blown06-New Build: Cage, 4-Link, Cog Drive, + Too Much More

Its volume capacity does have me a little nervous about being able to return that much fuel to the cell without issues. I'm gonna build my own cell, probably a 3-4 gallon unit that will mount up front, and I have some ideas for some trickery on the inside to keep the return fuel from blowing the fuel off the outlet.

My engine builder mainly does circle track stuff. Last year they had the option to run gas or methanol in a class that he sponsors. Said they switched to gas and it lost 40 horsepower on the dyno, but the car lost enough weight in fuel capacity that it was actually quicker. I love going to watch his 410 sprint motors. When you whack the throttle on one of those it sounds like a bomb going off instead of an engine revving up.
410 sprints are a great class to watch, stupid light and stupid fast
Who is the motor builder you are using? The highest HP motor on the track I go to is ERD, they are a canadian engine builder

Yes I have, lol. However, that one wasn't my fault. Some guy named Jason that used to tune at a place called MTI in Houston did that. Blew up my brand new truck in less than 2 days. Told me it was safe.
Engine builder I'm referring to is now semi-retired. His name is Jeff, shop name is Custom Automotive Machining out of Houston Texas. He was ***** deep in the Outlaw Sprint Car **** back in the 80's, 90's.
That's interesting, but not surprising. My buddies car drinks fuel, we burn through a 55 gallon drum every 3 weeks, on average.

Like I said, truck was 100% bone stock with 14k miles on it.
I did a 4" cat-back exhaust that I made with a 4" magnaflow and part of a system for a diesel truck.
Fuel upgrades where a 255 in-tank with 44lb injectors (still returnless)
D1sc blower with their 3 core intercooler and a 4" pulley.
MTI charged me $725 for a dyno tune.
Thats it. Was planning on driving it like that for a while till I could figure out a different daily driver situation. Like I said, 2 days after they dyno tuned it, it blew up and I was out shopping for another new truck.
On MTI's dyno, it made 450 rwhp with the above mods. I have no idea of timing or air/fuel. I was there when they tuned it and I drove it home. Probably made about 10 dyno pulls and I got on hard about 10 times in those two days. I actually had the thing trailered back to them so they could put the scanner on it and see what the check engine light was. It showed miss fire on cylinder 7 (imagine that). Then proceeded to ask me what type of long block I wanted to build for it. I politely told them to **** off, did my own thing and learned to tune myself from that point forward. My next motor lasted 4 years with plenty of street driving/racing and eventually ran mid 10's at over 4500 lbs and never once had a valve cover off of it. I actually sold the motor to someone on here and last I heard it was in Indiana and still fine to this day.
