There is also a mid plate, which is a plate between the motor and trans. You can see it in the pics. It's painted black, right now just the dowels are holding it up in the back.

Also with a set up like this you need to run engine limiters to keep the engine from moving forward and backward. I've been running a single limiter on the right side of the motor, but have noticed that it is causing some problems, so I will be adding another to the right side. Stay tuned I'll do a little picture taking and write up about it.

I went out side tonight to see if I could get a feel for a couple of changes that are gonna happen below the motor. I'm adding a limiter to the left side so I needed to check clearance for that and am getting a plan together for all the new cooling lines. So I snapped a couple of pics cause when I looked at it, I was like **** yeah!

With the mid plate, does it throw off the spacing of the bellhousing or converter?
When you had the motor plates done did you slide .motor back

I've driven it on the street like it is. But didn't get out of the zip code. No more street driving with no coolant in the block and dry decked though. My engine builder had to warn me. lol

Yeah, we could try. Would probably need to get your instructional video to figure it out though.

Motor stays in the stock location (or where ever you want it). Doesn't change anything with the trans except moves it back the thickness of the plate, which in my case is 1/8". I did have the converter built with the plate in mind though regarding pad height and snout length.

What's the advantage of motor plates? Why not solid engine mounts? Seems like a lot of extra weight.

Weight and the flexing of the block....some believe head sealing issues are relation to motor mounts pulling on side of the block....if you look at placement you'll see why

Other reasons is to place motor where you need it for chassis weight, header fitment along with other reasons
