madman does great work. my question is to him or anyone with an answer i have seen trucks with roll cages and some with no down bars out the back window. the rear end was like a dragster with the bars below the bed rails, why couldnt you go that route with yours?

because you can actually run your down bars down inside the cab and then take the bars out the back under th window...not that much room in the single cab.
the bars like that in a single cab wouldn't necessarily make the cage "illegal" but it wouldn't certify for more than whatever a roll bar is rated which is 10.50's i believe, maybe 9.50...can't remember for sure

ok the extra cab part makes sense, and good thing i have an extra cab so when i get to that point i can keep it a sleeper. But if mad man chimes in he might have seen the truck, its an obs 88-98 single cab chevy that i seen at allen futrals place about 2-3 years ago that i think was black with some vette wheels on it. And the others where online but dont have any links.
