Yeah I'm not confused now , it's gonna be closer to a track only build but still see street play , that's cool .

There's no rules to going fast

Actually it's neat to see a different truck build that is closer to a full drag setup as most of us aren't going to that end of the spectrum . Obviously there are some like Blown06 ( that's all I can remember at this time ).

Just wait. We're only getting started. As we progress there will be some stuff disappear that will make people lose their minds lol. It's easy to lose weight in the back, but the front end of the truck...that's where the magic will happen

You are willing to skimp on braking power to save 10lbs but are still going to put in a "badass stereo"? Are you serious?

Dead serious. But how am I skimping on braking power? We have over 1000psi on all four corners on the nova with the same stuff. Is that not enough?

Ever tested what a power booster is (Vacuum or hydrboost)?

Ill go ahead and say what im thinking, if the power booster is 5000psi then yes, I would say you are giving up a lot. If its 1200psi, then no, I agree with you.

No I haven't. But what makes a 5000# vehicle with stock brakes that has the potential to accelerate to 140+ mph in a 1/4 mile safer than my lighter truck with a braking system designed to specifically slow down fast cars? I'm not doing anything that hasn't been done before

You have a lot of variables and assumptions going on...of course real testing will be the deciding factor. The stock braking sytem was never designed for 140mph decels, in its defense. Braking power is needed according to velocity squared, ie, you need badass brakes if you go really fast.

Im not saying what you have wont work. Im just saying you might want to prioritize where you put your weight savings effort and actually test stuff in small increments instead of going ***** deep on the first run based on what has been done in other cars. Just my opinion though.

Will we see this truck in a future season of Street Outlaws? Obviously not the one about to air.

Would be awesome!

You're entitled to that for sure. I'm not trying to argue with you, just trying to understand your reasoning and maybe help you see where I'm at. Like I said, I'm not trying to do something that hasn't been done before. Hell, I'm not even the first one to do it on this site. Blown06 has the same setup. His truck weighs 4000# ready to go down the track. Mine will weigh that, or less. The nova, Jeff Lutz's old '57, 3700-3800# cars both use the same thing. They don't have as big of rotors or calipers so mine should be even better, right?

I think where you're mistaken is thinking that it's sacrificing function. That's not true. It's just sacrificing that cushy daily driver feel and I don't care about that.

On my dirt track car 1000psi on manual master cylinders will lock the brakes up at 100mph and they get used alot and i ride the brakes hard. I've killed the motor trail braking several times when I've had to hit the brakes quickly..
