here's a picture of my down pipe, it's hitting the cab most of time when I put the truck in reverse. and my exhaust also hit the bar the runs from rail to rail on the frame it's about 3/4" dia. can I just remove that?

when I do my 80e swap I'll take a hammer to the cab to make some extra room

thanks, yup I'm hoping to have everything buttoned up by march. the track opens up mid to late march just depending on the weather.

transmission will be done this week, and then I can start installing everything.

just a small note/update on the truck.

Took the truck on a 230 mile trip this weekend to the Farm Machinery Show / Tractor Pull and the truck did great.

this was 80+mph on the interstate and two 120 pulls
maybe 20%city driving

When i got home i had a little more than 1/4 tank.
so say 18 gals thats 12.7mpg and with gasoline i got 17.8mpg which is very close to a 30% drop

I am almost happy with how the truck is. While we all have different goals with our trucks, (besides going faster) here is mine. I wanted to build a fast (relative) vehicle i could haul my buddies in. Something i could take to the strip and impress a few people, but if my mom needed to use it, i could hand her the keys (warn her about pressing the go pedal too much) and not have to worry. I don't plan on taking this any farther. 600rwhp will be enough for me. I dont believe i have the right truck to keep putting more money into it to be "fast". My dad bought this truck brand new in 2002, I need to dig up the pictures when it was a stock delivery truck (batteries). You guys would enjoy them. I do plan on keeping this truck forever. I will run this turbo setup as long as it last, but after that I will drop a 6.0 with a cam and call it a day. (who knows we all change our minds lol)

Few Goals for 2014.

- 11's in the 1/4
- Holley LS fest
- drive it more
- work/upgrade less

very soon! just picked it up today. just went with a basic rebuild. main reason was to swap the output shaft. he said he upgraded the clutches and sprag and also changed the shift lever to a longer rod or something like that.

he was worried about it shifting because the solenoids fire differently than the 60e, but I assured him I had it under control

What clutches did he use? I am just using Borg Warner High Energy's as that is what I prefer. I actually had raybestos blues for mine but decided against it.

Are you doing a segment swap? What year is the trans?
