Default 454ss muscle truck

Starting this to hopefully keep motivation up to finish it, helped with my last build and nice to look back on things when done.
Puchased a 90 454ss truck, ran and drove fine for what it was (**** gm for not putting a o/d trans behind a big block). Id just like what i consider to be a great year round muscle truck, do the car show thing maybe autocross. Ill take it down the strip once just to see what it will do but i dont want a race truck, plus its 2wd and will be usess imo.

i am going to ls swap it, but good news for the haters im going back with 454cu in, either lsx or sleeved alum block im not sure yet ive been pricing stuff out and its all expensive

with a rpm 4l80 behind it.

i have already swapped in a 12bolt moser with trutrac, i sold the 14bolt because imo i would of had almost as much money upgrading it as a 12bolt, and its big and heavy and overkill imo for 600hp

i bought a react 4link bolt in kit with qa1 coilovers, but my truck already had a c-notch welded in so i made it work and ended up welding it in. I would of just got a universal kit if i knew how much work i had in it but hindsight is 20/20.

front has qa1 bolt in coilovers and arm kit, nice quality stuff for the price.

i purchased little shop front wilwood kit, their stuff is crazy nice but with the price to match.

All new front end parts, brakes, painted the **** out of everything cause im ocd and a painter now kinda.
planning on going with some sort big single plane either holley or cid intake and throttle body with an air cleaner if it all fits. Maybe buy the valve cover kit that hides the coils and uses big block valve covers. Basically make it look like the oe big block if you looked in the bay at a glance. Not sure just all ideas at this moment.

wheels it came with are fugly, will be 2tone powder coating them black satin center gloss lips, will get some welds or billet wheels down the road probably.

Looks like a clean truck, I've always had a thing for those SS's with all the paint matched parts and of course throwing a Big Block in it (even though it wasn't a really an impressive big block). Cool trucks for sure.

and thats where im at right now, i need to get the mockup engine and trans in so i can mount/fab on the chasiss stiffener/trans crossmemeber and install it. Check for intake clearance and schoenfield headers i have. Fuel tank and fuel system can get mounted also. Lots of stuff basically.

454LSS?

I always liked the look of those trucks. My buddy has a knockoff on air ride that will never be finished.

My opinion on the coilpacks would be to relocate them and get whatever valve covers your heart desires. That way you don't have to purchase a specific set.

i suppose i could hide the coils down on the block, but the point is i want bbc covers. From what ive found there is only two kits that convert ls to bbc and one of them hides the coils already.
they also make a fake distributer i looked into, but its literally just a pass thru and you have to hide the coils somewhere else. Thats alot of work and extra length just for the fake look.

Very nice! I had a 90 myself. Had it for 19 years. My longest run with a vehicle ever.
