Default 4.8->6.0

Apparently I can't ask questions in this section of the forum but this is still my project and I'm pleased to share with you guys.

i got the truck around two years ago, as you could see I didn't hesitate to put the rims on.

After a few cosmetics, like an SS conversion, sound system, flowmasters, superchips, and a cold air-intake.

The truck came with a 4.8. Don't get me wrong I loved the engine, the fuel economy was great and the power was exceptional. But i grew out of it, and just in time too. We had recently put a 6.0 into my older brothers s10, but due to his carelessness and failure to keep the thing oiled it began to knock. So we made the deal "i fix it, I keep it" I didn't hesitate to tear it apart and find the main bearings coming apart. Luckily we caught it just in time and the crank was turnable and the block was left without a mark.

Unfortunately, I didn't have near as much funds as needed to even start on it. So now that I'm 18 and have a job, I have well over enough to get the project going. Before the summer is over I hope to have the LQ4 turned into an LS2. Everything is coming along just fine. Just a few questions I hope to get answered on the forums. Other than That I should be posting the picture in August, and the last one with my "Corverado SS" (or Silvette SS) in December.

Here are some pictures.
This is my older brothers s10 with the new LQ4 in it.

The 4.8 that's sitting in the truck at the moment.

I moved your thread to the appropriate section for the question you were asking... this is a section for long-term projects only...

feel free to post your progress here but please save your question threads for the right section, thanks.

I would think he is talking about the heads and intake?

P.S. If this dust exists I would like some for my entire truck!
