2016 Escalade-V Series? Will it ever happen
#1
Just purchased a 2016 CTS-V and while picking up this totally AWESOME car, I asked what they (Cadillac) had to offer for the SUV crowd looking for more performance.
So we know there is a bad *** JEEP and soon there will be a Hellcat motor in the JEEP "TrailCat". Even if it does not have the full 707 of the Charger and Challenger it will still be KING SUV.
Jag has a new souped up SUV
BMW - My kid has a twin turbo M X5 that hauls
Audi - not so much
MERC - These guys have AMG everything. We have done reflashes on ML63 and GL63 SUVs that would revival any JEEP SRT in style (all be it for double or triple the price tag)
Well the list goes on and you get the idea, so where am I going with this?
Well I just found a 2015 (new body and new version) Escalade that has a small dent in the passenger door and got re-po'd ( this guys loss will be our gain). I then purchased a new CTS-V Crate Engine from GM Performance (not here yet) Its the standard sump version not dry sump like Z06
I plan to build an Escalade V series of my own and keep as much Caddy as possible.
So before you all say just keep the stock 6.2 DI motor and Whipple it or Maggie it, the plan is CTS-V motor (a la Caddy) and then upgrade from there. My goal is to take what ever I learn on the CTS-V car and carry it over to the SUV. At this point that would mean 720hp and 680 ft/lbs.
I plan to tow with Escalade so that will mean less timing to be safe or at least a way conservative timing map that is pseudo aggressive with cool intake temps and way conservative the second it sees at oil temps over 220 or intake temps over 130 (still working on it)
I'll keep you guys posted
2016 is all about the truck for me

Super excited - tons of pictures will be posted. Still waiting on parts. I want EVERYTHING on the dash to work as well. I am hoping all I have to do is just add a boost gauge. I know it wont be that easy but
We will figure it out

Cadillac moved away from Detriot to reinvent itself. They went hot and heavy on the ATS-V and CTS-V. They must know there is a huge hole in the American Luxo-Barge market

Guys like me that dropped the coin for the new CTS-V are prime candidates for it as well. Every person that purchased an AMG or M version SUV could have been a customer.
Ask Hennessey, Lingenfelter, Calloway and all the other shops installing blowers on SUVs how many they are doing. My shop works on Vettes, Camaro's, Mustangs, Chargers, Challengers and the likes. All of them looking to go faster.
We get as many ZL1 Camaro guys calling in as we do SS Camaros and far less 6 banger requests
We see way more SRT Chryslers then we do regular Hemis and now we are are seeing Hellcats coming in to go faster as well
Our ZO6 business is now as strong as our regular Vette business
Mustangs - samething really. When the GT500s were in productuion they were coming in all the time. Now its Coyotes and even Voodoos (GT350)
So my point is this. setting aside the truck market where guys are willing to buy the baddest truck they can afford with even the smallest engines. In every other world, the customer base is biggest-baddest engine as the base and then go from there.
GM knows that as does Chrysler. With gas prices at $3.00 for high octane the market will stay strong
My Thoughts anyway......
