2014 RAM RCSB 5.7/8spd.......project-lite DD/part time Autocrosser
#24
so back in late 2004 I starting modding a 2003 Chevy CC 1500HD..........paid a local mobile audio shop with a "good reputation" around 6k to build a killer stereo system...........HUGE FAIL!!!! On top of the 6k I paid them, I had already purchased a ($1k at the time) JL1000/1..........7k total cost and a ridiculous nightmare.
I suppose that sort-of tainted my wanting anything more than stock for a while.
Fast Forward to 2015. Decided to try again.
New rules:
1. The entire system will not exceed to cost of the JL1000/1 back in 2004
2. I will install everything myself
3. I "will" enjoy the hell out of it instead of having a mountain of regret!
So Far:
Sundown Audio 10" Dual 2-Ohm
https://www.woofersetc.com/p-9263-sa...subwoofer.aspx
Pioneer GM-D8601 Class D Mono Amplifier
Pioneer GM-D8601 Monoblock 800W GM Digital Series Class-D Amplifier
Pioneer GM-D8604 Class FD 4
Pioneer GM-D8604 4-Channel 600W GM Digital Series Car Amplifier
Pioneer TS-D1720C 6.75-Inch
Pioneer TS-D1720C 6.75" D-Series Component Car Speakers
AudioControl LC2I 2-Channel Line Out Converter
AudioControl LC2i 2 Channel Line Output Converter w/AccuBASS
Doing a factory integration setup that looks 100% stock.
Only things left to decide are:
1. Sub Box
2. Rear Fill Speakers
3. Dash Speakers

I think you will really enjoy those sundown sub's for the price. They are a top notch company and Jacob is a great guy to deal with.
Since your running the SA series I would suggest a ported box at the least. Especially with thr given power your running.

Really need some help on this one....
On my 2014 RAM 1500 Express w/CONNECT 5.0 and ideally I'd like to integrate with the factory head unit but after some reading it appears not all line out signals from the factory HU are or may be 20hz-20khz signal
So before I buy a new HU is there a full signal source to be had?

If chevy didn't exist I would be a ram guy. Love those single cabs.
Have you built sub boxes before? Make sure the air volume it just right. Many years ago a buddy and I built a crazy cool/complicated box for his 2 twelves and they sound like
b/c we had not given enough air volume and the subs were starving for air.

tweaked it a bit to fit my cab better, and then used this website to calculate the final dimensions/volume needed.

Hey thanks man, I don't know who Jacob is but good to know Sundown is a solid company and that they make a good product. I did my best(not really being an Audio dude) to pick decent gear without breaking the bank.

Aero ports will be your best friend for having a decent size box that doesn't take up all the space behind the seat.
