2013 Avalanche 6.0 Swap

Thanks! From what the seller told me these are the only set of CCWs for a GMT900 that CCW has ever built....I was so close to copying you with Cosmis wheels until these just popped up out of nowhere, I really wanted 20's but couldn't pass up the deal I got on these...$885 per wheel on CCWs website, I ended up paying less than the cost of of new set plus I got new tires in the deal

I have a Stock 2012 Avalanche LTZ 5.3 4x4 with 373 gears. I would like to swap to a 6.0 or 6.2. A local guy has a L92 long block without intake, flex plate or ballencer, but I would go through it. Would a complete engine be better? I would like it to be basically stock as it is daily driver. Would also like AFM delete. What issues did you have during your swap? Besides getting a tune any other wiring issues or problems? Thanks for any advice.

The swap is pretty straight forward. Your flex plate and Balancer will swap over from your 5.3. You will need to source an intake from either a 6.0 or 6.2 as your 5.3 intake will not fit. The L92 doesn't have AFM so you won't have delete it but I would at least drop the oil pan and clean it before you install the new motor. Also, I recommend changing out the motor mounts when you do the swap. I didn't really have any issues with the swap, it is all plug and play, including all the wiring. I did have to buy a new starter, the 6.0 and 6.2 starter is bigger than the 5.3 starter. You will need to get a tune for the new motor immediately after install, if you dont have anyone local plenty of guys on here can do a mail order tune for you.

I really appreciate all the great info! If I do upgrade the cam lifters and timing chain but everything else is stock any suggestions on a cam or a company to make recommendations? Do you have an intake or anything left from your build for sale I can use? Great to get info from someone who has already completed the swap. Thanks again!
