So I ended up swapping this into my avalanche and its definitely an improvement over the 5.3 but overall it still feels like its lacking compared to my old 2011 6.2 Silverado....so I bought a new L99 6.2 Aluminum longblock. Im planning on going with a factory cam this time since this is my daily driver. Im thinking about going with part# 19300535 which has assembled CNC LS3 Heads and an LS7 Cam. Im also gonna put in a billet flexplate and a ZL1 Converter. Truck has 3.42 gears and it will have 1 3/4" Kooks longtubes with ORY and Corsa catback. Thoughts on this combo??

cool build! I too am worried about valvetrain noise with LT's...if you have used ARH in the past, but are going to be trying kooks this time, do you think the noise will be better? just curious, something that bothers me as well

A little progress tonight...pulled the LS3 Cam and went back with the Cam Motion 6.2 Truck Cam...got the engine bolted back up and my 1 3/4" Kooks came in...

Pulled the Timing Cover, the Pan, the Pickup Tube (gonna have to swap it for the truck Pan and Tube)

Cam Motion (Top) Factory LS3 (Bottom)

Cam Motion 206/216 .553 .553 117+4

So I just turned the engine upside down on the engine stand so I didn't have to worry ab the lifters when I pulled the stock cam...Dot to Dot with the new LS2 Chain Damper

Why not just use an ls9 cam if that’s the cam you’re going with? Any other plans later?

The valve events of an ls9 cam are not favorable for a NA truck no matter how you look at them. It would feel like a slouch below 4K rpm.
