2006 Silverado suggestions on gear ratio and input on ls1 parts uogrades

Default 2006 Silverado suggestions on gear ratio and input on ls1 parts uogrades

I have a 2006 Silverado 4.8 2wd ext cab I have flow master dumped before differential and a cold air intake kandn and a superchip flashpaq and I'm putting a ls1 cam and ls1 heads port and polished and I'm wondering what kind of gears I should put in it I'm lifting my truck 6inches and have 33 inch tires any one can help me on that and maybe give me some advice on my set up im putting in regarding the ls1 parts swap thanks

Well i dont know really much about gearing but i think 4.10s would be great. And it depends on what you are planning to do with the truck but i would put a little bigger cam in it. And when doing a heads and cam you need also to get some custom tuning! Not sure if the superchip flashpaq is capable of doing custom tunes.

So what do you think if I port and polish the ls1 heads and stock ls1 cam would do with my other up grades would do with my horse power

Well you will need to mill the heads about 0.040 to keep the same compression as stock. If you want to go boost later you better keep them as is. But NA you will most likely lose power with non-milled 241's.

Well the information i gave you is just based on what i heard and a little math. Do your research, i think there are people that have done this. But the dyno is the best way to find out how much power you gained.
