I don't have the money to build a monster motor that'll lay 10's
I wish I did
I'd donate part of my manhood (part that I have 2 of) to get my hands on some of these lsx monsters running around.

I'm shooting for 3200 lbs with a full interior and a/c without spending more than $500 after selling my new found extra parts.

Then setup the suspension so it'll actually hook, then turbo! Then another junkyard motor and sit in the corner and think about what I've done.

I think your bumper would look better if you followed the flow of the fender well. Then maybe get the bottom of it rolled. It would make it look thicker, have an overall better look, IMO.

Might as well c-notch the frame while you have the bed off and cutting.

I say skip the turbo, until you can afford it. Cam the 5.3, add a 150 shot. Not really a monster, but will be a nice running truck. Until you blow up the transmission.

you can do a budget budget turbo kit easily under $2000. In a cam swap you will be in it over $1000 and it might make 330s.
nitrous is the cheapest but for the size shot you will need mulitple stages will be needed.
its a cool build i can wait to see it finished

Truck is now officially a short bed!
Took 4 hours with hand tools but the axle is moved, tanks switched. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Hopefully new tires tomorrow.

I haven't been following this build, so I may be a bit random here. Bare with me. If your truck is 3200 lbs., it won't take as much money as you think to put it into the 10's. I see a lot of turbo trucks on here and what they run, but nitrous can get you there and probably lower that you suspect. A cammed 5.3, with the right touch, and a good shot of gas will probably do it. I doubt you'll need two stages, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. I know how my truck and buddies' trucks do on gas. Just do it right.

Truck weighs close to 3200 now. I'm now shooting for 2700
Full interior and a/c
If I dig deep I could crack 2400 with a full interior but no a/c

I want forced induction simply because the closest guys that fill n2o around me that I know of are kc**stoms and I refuse to give those morons money after I repair my buddies trucks as they roll out of their "shop" and refuse to warranty anything.
Oh and they fubar'd a set of 39/18.5r16.5 tires trying to dismount them for me. didn't complete the work and still tried to charge me.

My rant is now officially over.
