thats my stance on it. I could have 3k into my 4l60e and still not feel "safe" with it. Where as Ill have $1500 into my 4l80e (before converter) and i wont worry about a thing with my power level.

ya it should be. waiting on the weather to warm up. Supposed to get down to 9 tonight. 64 on Sunday though lol.

Started getting the TB polished up. Figured I might as well clean up what I can. Going to paint the motor black so it should look alright.

Moar goodies. Think I have almost everything for the trans swap now. Input shaft, bearing and seal should be in the next few days, dropped the driveshaft off last night. Just need to order the new front shaft (from a 8.1 and allison truck) and converter

Converter has been ordered. Circle D Pro Series Multi Disk 258mm 3b (3500 stall speed). Decided to go with the Multi disk for WOT lock up and if I ever decide to tow anything. Havent skimped on anything yet, might as well not start lol.

Got the motor tore down yesterday. Got it all painted up today and should have it back together tomorrow. Just waiting on the heads to get back and the motor will be done.

The thing was spotless. I forgot how easy they are to tear down. Had it stripped in about an hour.

Getting closer. Circle D converter came in today. Also my Comp Trunion Upgrade. Got the shift kit installed in the trans this weekend as well. Hopefully get my heads back tonight and have the motor finished up in the next few days. Just a matter of pulling the old stuff and dropping everything in now.

Taking it apart

Nice job on the build thus far. What paint did you use for the covers, wp and oil pan? I am getting ready to paint mine and picked up some VHT 'Universal Aluminum' engine enamel. I like the way your's looks so I am hoping you used something similar.
