Loaded up to drop the frame off at the metal recycler and then to Meadow, Tx to pick up the new one.

Not even a full tank. Had to spend another $45 to top it off and then grab $26 worth of DEF.

6hrs, 1 replace fuel filter message, 1 reduced power message, 1 jug of DEF, and $230 in fuel later and we are back home. Time for beer.

Started to clean it out. Got a ways to go. Floor boards are a bit rusty as you can see but that’s all of the rust there is. This truck is actually in pretty good shape considering it’s been sitting on its frame in west Texas for the last 10 years. Starter even clicks when I turn the key.

Ya it’s gonna need some TLC before the shiny new engine goes in.

"ratchet strap as a come-along"

"busting your *** in the dirt"

"working on an old AF Chevy"

"vehicle chained on an equipment trailer, tied off on the stake sides"

"pack rats AF"

Yup, must be Texas
