1984 K5 Blazer

Haha. Not quite. $1000. It's definitely in better shape than some of the trucks I've seen listed. The one thing that's going to suck is all the dang dust and sand. Doubt I'll ever get it completely cleaned out.

Hadn't quite decided. My kids keep calling it Blaze after Blaze and the Monster Machines but I don't want red. I could go black and keep with the current family vehicle color but eh. I'm leaning towards a blue of some kind. Dad's bronco is painted Electron Blue after his first vette and that's sharp but I don't want to copy. Maybe a darker blue. Interior is going to be tan.

I'd pay $100 a gallon for that paint system in a heartbeat
The PPG Deltron Victory Red base I bought for my truck eight years ago was $500 a gallon. Victory Red is just a simple solid color but being "red" it's more expensive. That said the color above is a tri coat color system with base, pearl then topped with clear. A quality brand tri coat system like PPG Deltron, Axalta (formerly DuPont), Glasurit, BASF Diamont etc. is going to be crazy expensive
When I started painting back in the mid 70's you could buy a gallon of DuPont Imron for $36... it was sorta expensive... a gallon of gas was .59 cents... I was making $2.90 an hour at 17... not to shabby!
