All jokes aside, cage is at least another year away. Next year is recovering from the new engine, fuel system, and transmission. And burn outs. Lots of burn outs.
Went to install a shift kit today. 4 pan flushes and filter changes and there’s still **** in the pan. Maybe because it’s missing all the check ***** in the valve body? Who knows. It’s never slipped and it’s always shifted fine. Just hoping the shift kit limps it along long enough for me to afford the rebuild on the 4L80E and new Circle D converter.
So while I source some check ***** I decided to tear apart dad’s old Holley carb to see why it’s always been such a bad carb. We’ve always had trouble with it dumping crap loads of fuel into his engine no matter what. The thing has maybe a 1000 miles on it. Haven’t found much yet other than some trash in one of the bowls. The shop installed some 6.5 power valves so I’m swapping those for 7.5’s. Had to stop so I didn’t get to see what size jets are in it but I’m certain they are to large.
