Well good and bad news. Good news is we just took it on a little 20 mile round trip and it didn't blow up. Bad news is I pulled a chick move and left the parking brake on for half and smoked a drum and the transfer case puked fluid from the breather. I fixed one problem. I think the second problem is I overfilled the case. At least I hope.

Just went and checked and it’s sitting just below the bottom of the fill plug now. So it was either over filled and spit it out or something else. Guess I need to go for another test drive to find out.

Hit the under carriage with a pressure washer and degreaser today and took it for a spin. Dry as a bone. Gonna hit up all 26 grease joints this weekend and just drive it for a while.

After driving it for a while I had forgotten the assault on your senses the exhaust was. So I swapped the dynomax bullets for some Thrush Turbo’s. It quieted it way down.

This is still a 350ci motor right?

That fuel pump is LOUD

truck sounds great with both exhausts, I wouldn't complain either way if she was my ride 🤘🏻

It’s been bored 60 over and has an rv cam that’s it. Waiting on my spare block to come back so I can assemble the 383.

It’s a Holley red pump. Never heard it until now haha. It’s temporary as next year it gets fuel injected.

Took it for a drive and it’s so quiet. Like factory quiet. It’s a joy to drive now. And the stereo actually sounds decent haha.

Drove it around today. It’s acted a little funny. Randomly died while I was doing 50mph earlier today. Popped it in neutral but I couldn’t turn the key. Had to stop and put it in park and then it took a second to fire back up and puked some smoke out. Parked it when I got home and mowed the yard and showered before heading out again and it did not want to start. Took me a dozen cranks before it finally started. Drove it 10-12 miles at 55-65mph and no issues. Truck has mostly set since the beginning of February so I’m hoping it’s just burning off some crap. I filled it up this morning and threw some fuel cleaner in there.

Took what I thought was a funny picture. Hunk of junk looks like it belongs in the weeds haha.

It back fired and died on me twice more on the way home. I think the timing might have slipped on it. Not sure. Didn’t see any melted wires or anything. Brake lights I figured out. Looks like my dumbass pulled the entire brake light circuit out when I pulled the trailer light circuit off. So I get to go buy and run all new wires. Yay.
