i honestly dont think its a big deal just a question i pondered. my 10 bolt doesent see too much torque thanks to awd. i somereason had a brain fart , totally forgot it was casted.

im welding new shock mounts on mine at the time but its not anywhere near enough to distort nor cause problems so im not to worried.

The line up bar is solid 2 inches and 5 feet long. It will fit any housing with the right disc. If I don't have them I can make them.

Did the cover bolts come with the TA Girdle cover? If not are those Allen head or Torx? I'm really interested in installing that! Do you recommend the stud kit TA offers as an option?

There allen head cap screws and they came with the cover. I think the bolts were standard though and the new 14 bolts use a metric bolt for the cover.

As far as studs its just a little extra insurance. All depends on what you plan to do with it. If you saw his old 10 bolt the extra $30 for the cap studs was a no brainer for EVILGMC. Although the bolts and caps on a 14 bolt are much bigger stronger then a 10 bolt.
