Well this is actually my dads truck but he told me to make a build thread. Its going to be a 04 RCSB with an Lq9 and a ls6 cam in it. He's just looking for a strong daily driver. We are installing all the suspension from a donor 03 SS Silverado(the engine is also from the same truck) A few pics for you. I'll update as we keep working on it. The gray one is the truck we actually are building and the black SSS is the donor truck. The other pictures are from how the truck is sitting there now. Next is all the interior and then putting the cab on its home again.

 

A few more pics: the RCSB had a crash on the bed but that's an easy fix. Besides that, the truck was very clean. Oh and maybe some of you are wondering what that black stuff is in the cab and under. Well that's some spray that people use to spray out their bed. My dad wanted to apply that to a cab so it would lower the noise in the cab for a more comfortable ride. Thats it for now...ill update as soon as possible.

 

Nice project. Never thought about bed liner for sound deadening , hmm... Wonder how it will work?

 

Well thats what we need to try. Its not my truck but i personally would prefer more the special sound deadener because i think it would better keep the heat away but not sure about that.

 

Well heres an update. We started the engine last week and everthing seems to work pretty awesome. Also took it for a test drive and that thing just pulls very hard and still needs a quite a bit of tuning. These are not the most recent pictures but ill upload a few more...hopefully tomorow. Already got done almost everything under the hood and we are almost ready for the interior. The bed is in the shop now for a paint job.

What purpose does sound deadening mat serve on the HVAC box?

 

Yup, we did use the ls6 cam. My dad wanted a cam that had little more power then stock but not a crappy idle. Now at idle it has a little loop to it but nothing very noticeable. Needs tuning and no one will know it has another cam in it.

Well i just took the pic but i didnt even ask him why he did that. I personally have no idea how that would help but whatever, i dont want to judge.

 

Yea, it's best to bite your tongue sometimes when dealing with fathers. haha

Update: This is how it sits there right now. Unfortunatly no more updates this week. My dad is out of town so no progress this week. But shouldnt take to long anymore to complete it.
