Default 03 tail lights on 2002 silverado?

hi i'm new to the forum but i'm looking for some info about swapping the 2003-2007 tail lights onto my 2002 silverado. from what i can tell they should fit but when it gets to getting them to light up i am not so positive. i know i could just cut and solder them in but i'm wondering if its possible to plug the new light harness into the tail light junction box. thanks for any info you can give

Yep they will fit. I am not sure but pretty sure the sockets need to be modified on them, also the 03 up have a extra blinker in them that the previous did not. You can either buy the harness for that year (03) up or just cover the socket hole up.

Or just use a wire tap and run a connector to the extra side blinker bulb.

i was trying to keep away from cutting and soldering...its all the same and would work just as well but would like to use a 2003up stock harness if possible, just a personal preference thing

You can use the '03 and up harnesses, they plug right into the junction block under the rear of the truck.

Yea I bought some new taillights for a 03 and put them on my 01, they came with the wires and all. I just ran the new wire leads to the junction box under the bed.
