I think it was from the worn knife edged splines on the T-case mainshaft. I posted a pic of it above.

Wouldnt surpise me if it was, mines seem some abuse, and i fought a rear seal leak and finally replaced the bushing after buying a tool to do it in the truck which helped that but think it just needs gone thru like you did.
like the exhaust setup, would love to do something like that on my other truck..!

Thanks, I love the exhaust tone now. I just need time away from work and kids with someone to film some video of the exhaust besides just idling.

I believe the main shaft spline wear is due to 1. made out of a softer, weaker metal than the rest of the hard parts and 2. high milage of stop/go and shifting from reverse/drive since the wear is on both sides of the splines. I've taken apart 3 of the np149's that were out of a stock 6.0 and all had the same wear at the tip of the main shaft. If you do go through your 149 and choose to pull the pump off, be prepared to replace the main shaft bearing and reluctor wheel. On 241's, 246's ect. they slide right on and off. the 149 needs to be pressed/pulled off which isn't easy since the pump is in the way and the lengthy output shaft.

So this QTP 4” electric cutout lasted a couple hundred miles.

Yep, seen that before, lot of pressure from the turbo trying to run it hard with the cutout closed or sitting on the 2 step with it closed.
