MEGA UPDATES BELOW
Totally forgot to update this after the axle install!
14 bolt install pics. The rear brakes are a lot more powerful with such large drums now.
I used a drive shaft from a 1999(?) Astro Van. It had the correct front U-joint for the 4l80e and also the right one for the 14 bolt. Astro Van is on the right.
More goodies that I installed this year. Trunion and balancer.
I got some 15x10s on the rear with 295/65/ Mickey Thompson Street E/T.
I measured my wheel fitment a little too close... I ordered a 1" lift kit for the rear to fix this, haven't installed yet.
I towed my brother's turbo 86' CRX to the track and back that night too.
11.7 sec, 128mph. I have a lot of driving practice to do, notice 60ft. There was still some spinning and I should have let more air out of the tires. I hauled the slicks up in the box and swapped at the track.
Truniun install.
Trick flow balancer install.
Also, I broke my transmission in August at Powercruise. Lost every gear. I hauled it home and it drove off the trailer fine... I did some more driveway testing and found that it would keep pressure for about a minute and then go out. Shut truck off, restart and it was good for another minute. Trans pump is perfect and there is no major noticeable damage. I bought an updrage/rebuild kit from Jake's Performance and am slowly going through it, I mean very slow. I haven't gotten much further than this pic. Been too busy with many other things.
And while I'm at it, I also bought another Circle D converter. This time a triple disc 1A stall speed. Currently I have a single disc 2B.
So while my truck was out of a transmission (about a month), my friend found a 4l80 at the junkyard in a 2000 1 ton. He called me up and asked about picking it up for our dually that we are planning to swap. Keep it a carbed 454 and using an LS computer to run the transmision as a stand alone. He's done it before behind a Cadillac 500 for another guy.
Anyway, the transmission was supposed to be $100 at the pull it yard, he got to the front and the lady told him $50. The 30 day warranty would have been another $50. So he walked away with what we were expecting to be a core for $50 total. We decide to put it in my Silverado to get a baseline on how it performed and were completely shocked that every single part of it works perfect. We almost aborted the install when we pulled the pan to change the filter after we got it bolted up in the truck, there was SO MUCH debris sitting in the pan that we lost all hope. It is still in my truck, 3 months later now and has about 2,000 miles o it. The truck is parked for the winter now.

Other random pictures from my summer:
Built a custom hitch for my CRX for my stand up ski. It's a waste driving the truck every time for something so small.
The 1982 dually that I mentioned in the previous post. It currently has a 4 speed manual and revs round 3k rpm on the highway. Burns so much fuel.
The line to enter at Powercruise
Towing to my friend's house to do the transmission install after I wrecked my good one. the trailer winch I installed in the spring worked awesome.
Then bought another jet ski (right). A buddy drove to Illinois to buy these two. Stand up skis sell pretty high in MN so it was worth it.
Ride day
Then bought another. Sold this one to a friend. The CRX made a great transport vehicle with good mileage when I went from MN to Iowa to get it.
Then 6 days later, I took another after-work trip to Iowa to buy another one. Nov 1st test ride day. I had to fix a good sized hole in the hull when I got it. Air temp was 54* and water was 48* according to a guy fishing. it wasn't fun. I now currently own 3...
And I work at an X-ray manufacturer and got to bring in some of my transmission parts for fun before I took them apart to see if I could spot anything abnormal. Couldn't see anything wrong in these drums.

Powercruise roll racing. This M3 got me. Street tires on a very unprepped track. You wouldn't know from the sound, but I was constantly pedaling for traction.
1/4 mile racing my brother's turbo Iroc (350 very mild shortblock SBC, 12psi). Once I get the launch figured out, he is going down.
Different race, sideline view. No time for me on this run, it was probably the best one too...

Dyno day in May at DB Performance in Rogers, MN. They would only do it in 2nd gear because I have a stock driveshaft (pre-14 bolt install). Best numbers of the day was like 760hp or something like that. I still got somewhere near top 3 or 2 of everyone there. I was hoping for 800+ because it is at 3 more psi than my 780whp dyno and the exhaust should be more free-flowing than before too. Two straight through mufflers, vs a highly baffled flowmaster.
Throw-back video back when I was still a stock 4.8.
