15" tires will IMO always be better than 17's. more side wall in drag racing is better

Correct. Tire selection is also lightyears better. But 15s on a disk brake rear end are not bolt on. You either have to grind the **** out of the calipers or do a drum brake swap. I'm keeping my eye out for an entire drum rear end on CL.

We reallllly need a closer track than BIR, it's so damn far away.

Nice numbers though.

Not sure if you are talking about me having rear disc or not, but mine are drum. Stock wheel is 17, the drum is pretty big but I've never checked to find out if a 15" will fit. 15" is my first choice of wheel for reasons you mentioned.

KBRacing and I ran at the track and we have very similar setups, but his truck is stock height and he hooks 1000x better than me. He was on 15" et streets I was on 17" m&h.
Yup, flip kit on stock springs front and back, lower control arms swap in the front. I never expected to have traction either, that's been half the fun so far The first 1 or two runs I was taking off in 1st and spinning a bunch, my logs of the TPS are so jaggedy from letting off and trying to find the right amount of throttle, such a fine line. I'm really surprised that my first one had the best numbers up to the 1/8th, I thought that was for sure the worst.

Nice numbers though.
They were talking a few years back about having a huge racing area in big lake with a Nascar track and 1/4 and all sorts of varieties. I wish that would have gone through, 10 minutes away from my house!

Dang that woulda been cool, and yeah thats maybe a 20 min drive for me haha.

You'd just think that because the metro area is so big and with a huge amount of people that mod vehicles and the shops down in the cities, that there would be something near us. It would be a popular spot for sure.

If I win that lottery, I'd open a place.

With a 60' like that, you'll do a lot better than 123mph if you can hook it up better. I think if you could get it down to around a 1.8-9 you'd be around 127 or so. You made just a few hp less than me on the same dyno, but you have a lot better flowing turbo, so your power can carry out a lot better than me. The stock G80 gets a bad rep, but I never broke mine when I had it. Just don't do burnouts around corners, and they last a lot longer! Hopefully I'll see you up at powercruise, should be a good time!

hes right at that power level that spinning could be losing MPH but at same time he could lose MPH with traction

Been busy keeping this thing together. I've been throwing belts and finding other weak points. All minor things though. It mostly held together for powercruise, besides destroyng my balancer on the very first lap on the track. That was fun tracking down a new one and getting it on at the track, not as bad as the engine swap in a Dakota R/T that we did also though! he melted two pistons his first session on the track on the first day, Friday. Had a new on in and running Saturday evening to drive home.

Some misc pics, I have more to post when I get time to sort them out and uploaded.

The trailer was a "just in case" and even with a blown motor, it came home empty.

This was unbelieveable. Not prepared for this but we pulled it off. Everything worked out perfect, he knew a guy who was coming up already and he happened to have an engine at the house to bring with him for Mike. Basic hand tools that we brought with and rented a few from O'reilly. Hoist was also rented.

It's a rear mount turbo. Pistons 7&8 looked like this.

This is what was left of my balancer.
