Hey guys,

I am in the market for a used Super Duty. I am needing a 4wd crew cab short bed and most of the trucks I have found are in 02-06's with 80-115K miles on them, (I'm sick of having a truck payment and will eventually use it as a ranch truck) What should I look out for as far things to steer clear of?

I could be wrong, but I have heard about some reliability issues with the 6.0 vs the 7.3. What are they and are any years for these trucks better than others? I'm not planning on towing anything heavier than a 4500lb wake boarding boat but it will some mild off-road use. The main thing that I am concerned with is reliability since I will be taking road trips in it with my family.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

 

if you can find a 7.3L with decently low miles on it that would be my first choice. if your gonna go 6.0L wait till at least 05 and don't buy anything that has had ANY kind of modification unless they went all the way and studded the heads or you will be in for some expensive repairs
