Put a real cam in it and you should beat him pretty good. What gears do you have?

Honestly, you can only lean on a stock 6.0 so hard, as long as you have a proper tune in there, they all run in the same ballpark. I've found on the dyno that the stock fuel system is pretty much done at about 760 ft/lbs, no matter what you do.
SCT.....Best friend has a custom race tune from innovate diesel "xtreme race" and it puts down 426rwhp. Yeah you are right about their fuel system. I keep telling him hes close to where he better invest in some ARP headstuds

It doesn't cut down power on the top end, but if your cruising at say 70 mph and it's above your 4-2 dropdown, it will go to 3rd and wont hit as hard as 3.42s or 3.73s which will drop to 2nd. Also, now with the 4.10s my truck tops out around 130 @ 6000 rpms. But the advantage is around 100 mph the truck pulls much better because its at 5000 rpms vs 4000 with the 3.42s

If your going to stay with big tires I'd invest in 4.10s and a locker down the road.
Race him and see what happens. IF you can find some smaller tires to throw on for the race I'd do that just for the little edge.

he changed his mind he said. which is prolly good cause i didnt know if i would have beat him. he said that he was drunk at the time. i think it scared him and made him think my truck was faster then it was when i showed up with 1000 cash and said id race for it. he prolly would have beat me in all honesty. orit would have been close.

If he knows how to race a 6.0 then he probably would have walked on you. I've raced a D-max with a bully dog stack with quadzilla and walked on him and that was with my edge. Now I've got an sct and it runs alot better and faster. If he has a 6.0 and it's putting out alot of smoke beware. most 6.0 with out of the box tuning usually don't smoke.
