Did they say exactly what "blew up"? I know $15k is about right for a new 6.0 crate motor. What happened that they wouldn't rebuild?

Take the cab off to pull the engine? Yikes. I never did like working on Fords.

Pretty much anything motor related on the newer power strokes is cab removal

usually takes me at my shop about 45mins-1hour to pull the cab on the 6.0's. unplug a few things here and there, 6 bolts and cab comes off pretty easy. then everything is open to work on. not hard at all really.

pulling the cabs on this truck is not bad at all. you should see how the new 6.7 is stuffed into the trucks. 15k is alot of money if you are not getting a ford certified crate motor with a warranty and install. did you crack the block or munch a few pistons?
