do you have to run one i have heard that there mostly for manual vehicles so it shuts off between shifts.

what do you guys have to say about spraying between shifts nay or yay?

 

if u have a built trans it might be worth it...but if no built trans i think it could scatter a few parts.

Idealy you don't want to spray through shifts but you will be ok with built trans. Many people including my self spray through shifts. You still need to run a WOT switch. You want to make sure that you never EVER spray unless and full throttle and going ***** to the wall. It would be VERY foolish to run without a WOT switch.

 

man i dont know how you guys would make it without all these controlers.

my blue truck in sig had a little switch i held in my hand right to the noids. no controler window switch or nothing. sprayed through shifts for 2 years on a mild built th350 pushing 4200 pounds lifting wheel.

im curious how you hook one up to a DBW tb though. unless yall do it on the floor which people always have problems with

 

My switch is on the floor. I havn't had any problems for 3 months so far. The wot switch just helps make sure if you have to lift you don't pop the motor. I am fairly confident that you have never had to lift and that is why your button has worked just fine for you. If you had to lift for any reason the decel of the motor offers a GREAT chance of blowing the top off your motor. Not a for sure thing but the chances are far too great for someone who really needs to drive there ride home.

A wot switch is the only extra I reccomend unless you don't want to spray shifts. I am going to take mine off because I am spraying off the line and through shifts. I just don't know if I am going to sell it or keep it for a second stage later on!

 

there are many ways to do the same thing. A WOT switch takes one thing out of your hands and somewhat automates activation. I have enough to do when I'm WOT to worry about a little button
You are really asking about a "window" switch though, one that electrically shuts the system down at set RPMs. I have one but I run nitrous through the shift and use the window switch to ensure that if below 3000rpm or above 6500rpm (like blowing through ) the system shuts off.

As far as spraying through the shifts being tuff on the transmission, don't ya think shutting down and slamming the juice after the shift is as tough?

 

The extra power can heat and burn the clutches and now allow the next gear to engage as smoothly as it would without the power of nitrous shifting between gears. This is where the problem is in shifting wile spraying most often comes from. Typically if you have a cooler and a healthy trans you should be OK.

As for slamming the trans after each shift with the juice, it is traumatic to the internals but they are better at handling that minor shock then they are at handling the heat and strength they must fight wile shifting with extra power.

yeah im def going to run a wot switch but i think that im going to try out spraying though the shifts and not and see which is better
