I spray through the shifts everytime,my Performabuilt does great!! If the tranny is stock,it will eventually fail soon enough.
Definatly use a WOT switch and also an arming switch.
IMO,Nitrous is not as harmful as some crack it up to be if used correctly!!

As long as you can keep the tires under you when it shifts you will have tiny gains from spraying through your shifts. If set up correctly a window switch turns off 1-2 hundred rpm before the shift and the moment you shift and drop the rpms you are back on. So you only loose a few milliseconds in a run not spraying through shifts. I would say et. won't change more than .1-.2 at most. Again this is with 100% traction both ways because spinning the tires makes a hole new equation!

Nitrous has the potential to be very destructive, but when a tiny number of brain cells are used nitrous is as safe as any other power adder. How many people saw pinks all out when the guy had a nitrous leak and blew the entire part of his GTO to high heaven?

Couldn't find the GTO but here is a vid that showes what can happen.

If he is lucky the internals aren't damaged but I have a feeling they are. My suess is this happend because he sprayed at too low of an RPM or not at full throttle so the fuel and nitrous staying in the intake too long. And Kaboom!

yeah i have a performabuilt tranny also so im not to concerned about it going boom

im def with you on the fact that nitrous is not as harmful as its cracked up to be you just need to do your homework

Of course it can be,however if used correctly and people do there homework like mentioned, most problems can be avoided.
If you learn how to properly read your plugs after a nitrous run, this can tell you exactly what is goin on with your engine and certainly help problems from arising!!
Main thing to remember is DO YOUR HOMEWORK.This is my opinion and experience.

Yep..........I sprayed a stock bottom end 6.0L with a 150-200 for 4 years(countless bottles) and the motor is still driving that same truck around today(uses no oil and still sounds great). It's all about the tune, the gas you use, keeping your eye on your plugs, and just listening to the engine. Now transmissions........that's a whole different story all together.
I've used wot, window switches, and a button in my hand. I've blown transmissions every way. The most success I had was using a switch in my hand, hitting it when I knew for absolute fact the truck was hooked up, and spraying through the shifts. I've blown a transmission one time when the window switch cut off the nitrous before the 2-3 shift. I almost believe the "shock" of the nitrous cutting off did the damage there.

Here's always been my question to the guys not spraying through the shifts.............1. On a big motor build, do the guys making the big power NA let off of the gas or have a window switch to cut off their big power before or during the shifts?
2. Are all the blower application guys dumping the boost to zero before the shifts and then building it back up after the shifts?
