i think its relevant, not really a good answer. some stock tranny's blow out with stock motors, you have a 370 in a CC truck, heavy + power = breaking ****. i have been spraying a 125 shot with my mods in sig, around 420+ rwhp, with no problems... knock on wood.... i have 43K miles on my truck now, and its my DD to and from work. i dont spray off the line, and i dont spray through the shifts... i hit from about 3K-6200 rpm, and its been able to hold so far.

take that for whats its worth though, i dont really know if the servo will help as far as increasing life, just shifts a bit firmer.

i would start saving for another tranny for sure while you play with the stock one in though. it wont last forever. put yourself a large tranny cooler on it and get your tune dead on, and hope for the best.

its been a good one it took a STS turbo running a 7.75 in the 1/8 mile! i just new it would not last long but the motor blew up first. then it took 490hp from a radix and still shifted good, but took it out after buying a $3200 4l65 from rpm but sold it and when back stock. so now i can not take it no longer....i have had the turbo, radix, prochargers, but i have never used nitrous!!! just looking a little jump!!

thanks for the help!

I bought my truck with about 50,000 on it, 01 ECSB 5.3l

I put a B&M on the hard setting, and a vette servo in, and was worried about popping the trans with nitrous.

I sprayed (IIRC) an 80 shot, about 40 feet out of the hole, all the way through the shifts, stopping at about 90mph. Ran a 14.8 running really rich and with a 2.3 60ft. Never got a chance to put slicks on it. The truck has about 60-70 1/4 mile passes on it.

I tow my race car quite a bit with it, and drive it to work every day. I now have 98,500 miles on it. The fluid looks/smells great, and the truck runs great. I had heard that the B&M would pop the sun shell, all it does is pop the tires on a WOT 1-2 shift. Same for spraying and through the shifts, but it runs great.

if you don't spry throught the shifts and hit it rolling, it might help it last longer. but a stock trans is still very weak

IMO save yourself the hassle of a blown trans, just wait until you get a built one.
