i have mine in the back seat. Ext cab. I havnt had my back seat in for years. its a 15lbs bottle and i have it mounted sideways. all i do is make sure the the bottle is faceing the way the sifin tube is. It has worked great for me for years.

 

Mine is mounted behind the seat in my Silverado. With the siphon tube facing rear as mentioned above ^
