Default timing options

are most of you running a custom OS with a n2o tune, or are you running a controller? my 06 doesnt have a hole lot of options for the tune unless I have missed something. I was looking into a msd timing twister box. what are you guys running?

Search for "IAT Mod" on tech... Basically what it does is "fool" the computer making it think the intake temp is 194*, you then change the IAT Spark table to the corresponding row to pull X amount of timing...

You also have a IAT PE modifier that you can update the above mentioned IAT to add/substract fuel....

I will get some pics up in a minute.

Total cost of the mod is <$10, it requires some wire, resistor, relay and a switch.

Basically this is what alot of the "Timing Tuners" do, so here you go.

Wiring diagram

Resistor sizes to match IAT

9420 ohms = 32 *F - 0 *C
7280 ohms = 41 *F - 5 *C
5670 ohms = 50 *F - 10 *C
4450 ohms = 59 *F - 15 *C
3520 ohms = 68 *F - 20 *C
2796 ohms = 77 *F - 25 *C
2238 ohms = 86 *F - 30 *C
1802 ohms = 95 *F - 35 *C
1459 ohms = 104 *F - 40 *C
1188 ohms = 113 *F - 45 *C
973 ohms = 122 *F - 50 *C
667 ohms = 140 *F - 60 *C
467 ohms = 158 *F - 70 *C
332 ohms = 176 *F - 80 *C
241 ohms = 194 *F - 90 *C
So in the tables below i highlighted 194* so you would use a 241 ohm resistor...

IAT PE Modifier table

IAT Spark table

Thank you, drive threw.....

well i did it, works like a champ, and totall cost was $1.07. I found a new 5 way relay off a wiring kit I had for a UD blower motor bulletin, and wire and connectors from work, .99 cents + tax for the resistors. went with a 330ohm. set 176 to 194* to -4* from .20 cell all the way across. should I set it at -4 across the whole table? should I add any to the PE iat table? I thought it was for dry shot guys.
thanks again Corey

I am glad it worked out for you. As far as your PE modifier, i would look at your logs to see what your AFR is doing before messing with that one. Or you could just tune your AFR with jets.

I have the timing twister have had it for 3 years I guess, it's worked well for me you can have an all motor tune and flip the switch for nitrous timing. No not as cheap as the above but it does work also I have verified the timing with a snap on scanner.
