Default Things that I am concerned about please help.

I have a 2001 silverado ext cab. It is 2 wheel drive, and has the 5.3/4l60e combo. I have installed a NX efi wet kit and am spraying 100 shot. There are some things I am worried about, and was hoping I could get some answers to from other people who know more than me.

1. The truck still has the stock air intake, and because of the way that the bend is near the throttle body, the nozzle is only like 2 inches away, and when the spray hits it makes this wierd noise. I think that it is the spray hitting the throtle plate, and i am worried about puddeling in the intake. I thought about making a spacer to put in between the stock plastic intake tube and the throttle body to push the nozzle back to the recomended 4-6 inches.

2. What is te highest recomended shot on the stock fuel system and bottom end with NGK TR6 plugs.

3. I have the msd window switch set to start the spray at 3000, and have it shutting down at 5400. I am concerned with spraying through the shifts with the auto trans. From what I can tell, the shift hits at like 5600-5700. The last time that I used this kit, it was on my 98 Z28, and that car was a 6 speed car.

4. I haven't had the car out to the track yet, but I want to get out there tis friday. I am also wondering about the stock pcm settings for the speed limiter, or govoner. The tires that I have are a little over size so the spedo is off by 5 mph. If it reads 70, then I am really doing 75. I do not want to hit that when I am racing.

5. What do you think the truck runs stock, and what do you think I will be running with only having the spray and a muffler. The muffler is a moroso spintech muffler. The GVWT of the truck is 6200 lbs, and with figuring driver and fuel, I estimate the raceweight to be about 6500 lbs.

I apreciate all of the help that anyone can give me here.

Thanks,
Chris

i would be concerned with puddling also. i didn't like the idea if having my wet kit spray into the throttle blade so i am using the hole where the egr tube went. (look at the truck intake design. it has a large hole in the top (inside) of it so nitrous doesn't over shoot the first two cylinders). here's something you can do that is pretty cheap to remedy this problem if you want to spray in the intake tube.

you can build a new intake tube. you need a 4" 90 degree elbow, a 4" 45 degree elbow (rubber pieces and can be purchased at lowes or home depot) and a 4" metal tube. you cut the tube and place it inside the 90 and 45 then clamp down. also, where the stock accordian style tube is on your mass air sensor, you place it inside that and the 45 then clamp it down. this should give you a little more room to place the nozzle further out. you might have to use a small piece of metal where you mount your nozzle but that should be fine. if you have the stock fan, you will have to either cut the 90 elbow or notch the fan shroud which is what i would do.

the max nitrous shot i would spray is a 150 shot.

your plugs are good. your timing should be low enough to spray a 150 shot but i would stick with the 100.

not sure what you will run but i would imagine using the window switch you should knock half a sec off your times.

I am going to the track yomarrow night, and as soon as I get home, I will post the times for the night. Both on and off the spray. I will only be spraying the 100 shot. I am to nervous about any more on the stock tune. I apreciate the help, and one last thing, if I angle the nozzle down slightly, do youthink it would spray past the plate and keep the puddling at bay?

when i sprayed my truck i had the nozzle on the bottom of the air intake right at the tb and didnt have any problems with it spraying a 125 shot. for tuning all i had at the time was a predator and i turned my timing all the way down and fuel all the way up on it.

i was using a wet kit--nx--. i was running a 100-125 even went to a 175 shot. i had no problems with puddling at all. i also had the nozzle spraying in the intake a few inches away from the throttle body. it is a violent hit that close but it isnt going to have any problems.

I tilted the nozzle so that it sprays right over the top of the throttle body plate. Hopefully this will help. If I have an issue, or it's robbing power, I will just tilt it back to being straight. I will post my track times and some vids later tonight.

finally got to the track last night. I will post some vids later, but not to bad overall.

1st pass all motor, shut down early (had trouble seeing the finish line due to poor lighting.
RT .5031
60 2.6762
1/8 10.7266 @ 68.49
1/4 16.6007 @ 73.18

2nd pass all motor, dropped tire pressure to 26 psi.
RT .4542
60 2.4183
1/8 10.3307 @ 69.15
1/4 15.9558 @ 84.76

3rd pass dropped tire pressure to 22 psi and sprayed. The spray hit right after the 60 ft, and broke the rear loose! even with a set of 285/75/16 nitto terra graplers!
RT .1120
60 2.6325
1/8 9.8731 @ 77.84
1/4 14.9409 @ 95.10

4th run also on the spray
RT .5112
60 2.4598
1/8 9.7907 @ 75.94
1/4 14.9856 @ 92.88

5th pass this was the last pass I made on the spray. I noticed the spray was not hitting like it should, as soon as I got done with the run I pulled over and found that I have a pinhole leak in my n2o line that goes from the solonoid to the nozzle. There is nothing there that it was rubbing on so I have no clue how it happened.
RT .2465
60 2.4970
1/8 9.9477 @ 74.42
1/4 15.2827 @ 89.66

I made a few more passes on motor after that, and because it was cooling off, the best one that I managed was a 16.0001 @ 85.11. Overall not a bad night, this is the first time I have had the truck out , and also the first time that I have raced an automatic trans vehicle.

here is a link to a vid of the first n2o pass. http://videos.streetfire.net/player...49-E116A863FBA6 it is taking forever to optimize, so it might not work right away.
