Default Schrader valve removal...

I had no idea something so simple could give me such a headache! I'm trying to get the core out of my fuel rail test port but the damned thing wont come out. I have it backed out to the point that I could actually see it turning; tried grabbing it with a set of needle nose and successfully ripped the pintle out, but the damn core is still in it. I am obviously not doing something right...is there a trick to this?

If somebody had previously replaced the valve with one that isn't stainless, it may have corroded in place, and it may be seized. This is even more likely to happen if the cap had been left off for a long period of time.

I have a core tool, but thanks for the replies. I might try to drill it out or something today. There's fuel coming through it, I just don't know if its enough...

I'm thinking a pressure gauge might be cheap insurance.

I have a spare set of fuel rails. I can confirm that the valve will come out with out any issue and sell it to you for a reasonable price?

But you should be able to get the remaining part of the core out with the pointed end of the tool that was posted(4 way core tool).
