Progressive controller

How do they work. I understand what they do, but how do they do it? Do you wire to your solenoids somehow and it only allows your solenoids to open a certain amount or what? Looking at this one from nitrous outlet

they pulse the noids really fast and build power up from a small percentage to a larger one. I assume that when it starts pulsing, the noids are opened up for really short periods of time and when it starts reaching the end they proggressively stay open longer until it is stays open.

If you need a progressive? Sure, helps traction as well as engine shock....longtivitates trans as well. I would recommend a progressive for a big shot street car to aid in traction. Because at the track with some slicks people are hooking 300 of the trans brake.
If you get crappy traction now on the street with nitrous a well set up progressive will help.
I have 275/70/16 grabber uhp and on ~1sec build time I could hit a 100 at 2100 out of the hole and it would move pretty good on the street.
I raced my friends similar modded 150 shot truck and left him by at least a 1-1/2 busses to 100mph on the street due to him hitting it a 3k rpm (due to traction) in 1st gear. Any roll under 15mph was game over for him and he is a good 70rwhp more than me.
"hurting or shortening" the life of solenoids by using a progressive is overrated.
