Hey thanks guys. I'm likely leaning towards the IC Radix at this point. I kind of like the system being "on" all the time. And the roots SC is used on many factory vehicles which gives me more of a warm fuzzy about my drivetrain then nitrous. Radix even offers a drivetrain warranty, even though you can only get it IF the install is done by Radix certified shop..still that does mean they feel you should get some life out of your drivetrain even with their product added to the mix.

Would a programmable nitrous controller be a bit easier on the tranny since you're not slamming 100-150HP shot all at once?

I still think nitrous is the best bang for the buck....and the low cost factor is probably why you tend to hear more about problems with nitrous. People w/o experience with major mods are strapping bottles onto stock engines with 150HP nozzles and well....things tend to break when you shove that much HP onto an unprepared system.

i have never heard of a radix certified shop that will warranty YOUR internals with that SC. why would they warranty something when they have no idea what condition it was when you threw on the SC. seems like they would just warranty the SC itself.

FI is more wear .. Is not true in all cases...

Theres pros and cons to both..

Nitrous- Is not always there if you need it.. More of a blow to the tranny, and more chance of kabooming your motor... However, there are more Shortterm Power gains (of course depending on shot size)

FI - Always there, Depending on what type the wear is not as bad.. Turbos dont wear unless there spooled up.. Superchargers can cause more wear. because of the lower power band. Detonation can still happen, but is less likely, because there is no solenoids to fail. Detonation can be tuned out, with a good tune.

Theres always a debate on which one is better... Nitrous is the BEST BANG for the buck. But keep in mind after around 20 bottles + price of nitrous set-up.. You could buy a whipple charger.. and always have that extra horse power around!!

twenty bottles is like 800 and the kit would be maybe 500, i didnt know you could get a whipple for 1300$ not trying to be a smart *** but it would be more than just twenty bottles

You can buy an extra drivetrain warranty from Magnuson.

I tried to buy the drivetrain warranty when I had my Radix installed by a certified GM master tech with 7500 miles on my truck and was told it had to be on a new truck
