Default Nitrous Questions

Have a couple of questions that I would like to be answered. I am running a 100 shot wet kit on my chevy silverado. I know I need to have it tuned for the nitrous and plugs is there anything else that I am going to need to do?

..Get bigger jets because your going to want to spray more lol

I would recommend a wideband to monitor the air to fuel ratio

wide-band...not "Y" band. Wideband will give you accurate readings. Plugs are probably all you'll need for a wet shot on a stock tuned vehicle but tuning would definitely improve your performance. TR6 plugs.

From what I have read it is not recommended to run the TR6 for any amount of nitrous. Use the B6EFS which is the same heat range as the TR6 but has a non-projected tip. Having said that, many people have been using the TR6's without issue. I had a set(TR6's) that I bought a while back before reading into it and that is what I am going to use but as soon as I need to change plugs I will replace them with the non-projected tip B6EFS or BR7EF if I step up the shot.

Here is the breakdown:

Plug = Shot Size
B6EFS(1 Step Colder) = 0-75
BR7EF(2 Steps Colder) = 75-150
B8EFS(3 Steps Colder) = 150-225
B9EFS(4 Steps Colder) = 225-300

Me and my friend both use the br6ef plugs. My mods in sig and his mods are bone stock truck open y pipe and 150 shot with a tune. We both had hell trying to figure out why the br6s made our idle rough
come to find out idle timing had to be changed and the gaps had to be atleast .32 to work. So for us it wasnt a plug and play app but once we got it right it ran great. Just my experience

br6ef is actually colder than the tr6 plug. Literally thousands of people run the tr6 plug with power adders on these LS motors. It is NOT recommended to use a projected tip plug(tr6)for any power adder application. Do so at your own risk.

Some people are going to come in here and say "my truck gets better mileage with the tr6 plugs over the br6ef" blah blah blah...pick your battle...

If you have the knowledge that there is a plug more suited for you to help in not burning up your ****, why would you not use it?

I know there's going to be people come in here and say they've been this fast yada yada with a tr6 and no problems...COOL, I'm happy for you and wish you the best of luck.

So what ever plug you choose really then. Either way you will be going down to a colder plug.
