Default Nitrous Outlet Kit questions

i have a 99 4x4 5.3 6inch lift and 35's wanna do a nitrous kit. Wanting some imput on the Truck kit from nitrous outlet. Was wondering if i would have to do any tuning if i was just to do like 125 shot or even a 100. its a basiclly stock 5.3 just with a few bolt ons and 180,000 miles. Everyone on here says the ZEX kits suck so im looking for a bolt on kit alternative.

P.S.- this is my first post

Welcome to the sight. I'm interested in nitrous as well, I've got one of those crappy kits waiting for me to install. The search button at the top middle of the page tells me that you don't really NEED to tune if you're below 125. Tuning always helps though.

Dave and the guys at Nitrous Outlet are great, super helpful and offer great products! I use one of their kits myself!

change the plugs to a tr6 gapped at .035 and dont go past a 125 shot for safety. only get a wet kit. this is assuming you are on OEM tune.

if you want to stay with a stock tune, stay with the wet kit.

Being 4wd he shouldn't brake axles, now the trans could last years, could only take a few hits. I would be willing to guess it will last a good wile though.

With a dry kit you have to add fuel with the computer hence the need to tune. Many people love a dry shots but, a wet will kit always be easier in my mind. You install the kit and adjust two jets to get where you need to be, not the tune of your computer to get your fuel correct.
