Default N20 Questions

Hey guys, i'm new here and looking for as much info as possible.

I'm looking at getting an 07/08 Silverado, havnt decided on body style yet, but probably the 5.3L 4x4.

Is anyone running juice on a 4x4, whats that like?

How much can these vehicles handle stock?

im thinking about putting a 6"+ lift on and some 20's with large tires, anyone had experience with juicing something like this?

what should i be looking out for

also, is the vortec maxx more suited for nitrous?

anything you guys can pitch in to help me out, thanks

A lot of us are running N2O on our trucks, no the one is not better than the other. Most will say 100-150 max on a stock engine. If the suspension was done right it should handle well but you are going to need to do a gear change ($900-$1100) and some trans mods.

Welcome to the site, read all you can on these pages. Enjoy!

if you are wanting nitrous, i take it you like a little power under your foot, the vortec max has the 6.0 with a 4l65e and depending what year you want has either 345hp or 367 hp and a little stronger trans and rearend. The 5.3 has 315 hp. Either motor should take up to 150hp nitrous with no problems, but the trans usually doesn't like the abuse, but if you drive sensibly and know how to beat on it properly, you should be ok. I would do a 100 shot with a vortec max and you should be pretty happy.

I would wait a couple of months as the new 09's with the 6 speed auto.

It should give you a pretty big jump in performance compared to the 4L60 withs to wide of a ratio.

Also its supposed to be stronger so it'll take more hits.
