Default Dry System - MAF Relocation Q's

To start, I have a K&N FIPK.

When you relocated the MAF sensor, was there enough slack in the wires to move the sensor to about the midpoint of the intake tube without splicing the wires?

Did you have to remove any material or just make the cut?

What did you use to reconnect the MAF to the intake tube and the intake tube to the cone/heatshield?

Is there an advantage of moving the MAF sensor closer to the TB than having it at the midpoint of the intake tube?

Easiest thing to do is go to airflo.com and buy the pieces you'll need. Then, make one like mine.

Here is a picture of my old setup.

It didn't seal very well.

What is the diameter on the tubing? How long is the aluminum section?
Looks like you have a 90, 1 aluminum section, and two hump hoses.

From the TB to the Cone it goes:
TB - 4'' elbow - 4'' aluminum tubing - rubber 4'' to 3.5'' connector - MAF - rubber 4'' to 3'' connector - 3'' cone end

You'll only need to buy 1ft of the aluminum tubing.
Also, you'll need E-fans to fit it correctly. There are other options if you do not have electric fans however.

You may have an easier time by just buying the ZEX nitrous cone and not moving the MAF at all. Then, you could keep the K&N tubing. You'll have to check the distance to the MAF you'll be spraying. Mine is 9.5'' away which puts me at 12.0 A/F.

That is a good idea about replacing the cone. Originally, I was going to add it at the end of the K&N filter. Then I started thinking about the spray pattern and dispursement and freezing of MAF.

In actuallity, the Cone height is 7.5". Plus maybe another 1.5" or 2" to the MAF sensor should give me enough clearance from freezing. So then it just the matter of nozzle spray direction/pattern. On the Zex kit, how does the nozzle spray into the cone? Does it shoot out the end like a fuel injector or does it shoot 90 degrees out from the nozzle?

Is there a nozzle that dispurses like a building fire sprinkler? The nitrous shoots out the end and is dispursed by deflection. It would not need to be a 360 degree dispursion.

Or does spray pattern really matter when spraying at the cone? I remember seeing a video where someone cracked opened a nitrous bottle and sprayed the stream into a leaf blower while using the leaf blower to force air into the intake (ricer) while on the dyno. It still made power above the leaf blower alone test.

I don't have a nozzle, because the jet sits at the end of the line and pretty much plugs into the cone. Seems this was its purpose.

The inside of the cone has a long nipple-like exit where it directs the nitrous down the center of the air stream.

I see NOS has a Jet Spray nozzle. I also see the have an annular one for a wet kit that has five or size holes at the end. I suppose you could always cap off the fuel side.

Sport Side, did you descreen your MAF?
