Default Dry shot and timing ?

With a 100 dry shot how many degrees of timing are you running? What is stock timing on a 5.3?I've heard you might not have to retard until you spray over 100 shot.I could definately be wrong.

I used to run 28 degrees on my 100 wet shot, and had zero problems. Here lately, I've been running 25-26 on my 150 shot. I've been told I can go higher, but I'm pretty comfortable with it at that timing.

Wouldn't the dry shot make that a lot different?

I need to do some more trial/error and test/tuning, but mine seems to run a lot better with a very lean fuel mixture, and lots of timing.

My fuel pump was going out at the time, and I was commanding a 1.32 EQ ratio NA just to achieve 13.0 A/F. You know how EQ works right (Stoich 14.7 / EQ = Commanded)? So on nitrous, I bump up the EQ to 1.4 and it ran 14.0 A/F the entire pass with 25* of timing. I ran a 12.0 @ 110.

I was commanding a lot of fuel, but it just wasn't getting there. It's important that you know my IDC was at 75% during this time. The next pass, I forgot to kick on the wideband, but I did once again increase the PE, and my IDC went up so I'm assuming it got more fuel. I also kicked back timing on this pass to 22* and it ran a 12.2 @ 109. Both passes were done on a 75 shot.

Back when I had only bolt ons and a 100 shot, my MAF was screwed up so fueling/timing wasn't adjusting for the amount of N2O. I was running 28* of timing and 13.0 A/F. I ran three 12.9s @ 106 like this.

Very dangerous, but I couldn't do much at the time... Luckily nothing was hurt and it ran strong.

Not really but ill take your word for it. Is that a Stoichiometry problem? Damn its been a while since i had that. Im sooo glad i switched out of Mechanical Engineering.

Im amazed that you can get those times from a fuggin 75 shot! What's your best NA again?

For what it's worth, my wide band sensor was inaccurate, so that's why I was seeing such lean conditions. All fixed now. I have a feeling it was super rich actually.
