Default Blow down tube

So who all has had a tech at the track actually look at the bottle to make sure you had one if it is inside? Also would the kick you out or just would not be able to run with it in your truck? I am going to get one just may not be here by the time I go to the track next.

I get checked, and when they forget to check one of my friends is happy to point it out to the tech
The tube is to vent the gas away from the cab if the disc bursts. Last thing you want is the gas in the cab with you should it ever happen.

Ya I understand the concept behind it. I swear if I ever take the kit out the rear floor is going to be swiss cheesed lol. Lucky most are far enough back they are not to easy to notice.

home depot sells everything you need if you are okay with copper tubing. Definitely costs a couple more bucks than that cheesy thing they sell you.

btw...they won't kick you out, they make you remove the bottle. You run with the bottle after that, then they'll kick you out.

How did you make one of copper and how did you mount it to the bottle?

I used some 1/2" aluminum fuel line, it was easy to bend and flare. Just have to get the tube nut and fitting. I think its an 8-AN.

YOu can't see it in this pic...just the corner of it...

I'll get better pics of it tomorrow if I remember. Just a 90*, little straight piece and one longer straight piece. Solder together. Then I soldered the 1/2" tube to I want to say to a 1" copper union. LOL I forgot... I'll get a pic. It's not cheaper and does look a little weird being copper and all, but man it's rock solid LOL. Every time during inspection they take an extra look at it and then look at me and I say the same thing everytime..., "it's my daily driver, no matter what rolls under there, it won't break that line like that crappy regular blown down tube." They smile and write a number on the window.

Both tracks I've been to have never made me pass tech. I don't know how strict your track is but at the 2 I've been to I paid $20 was given a number and went straight to the stages.
