Welcome to the site, I am sure if you do some searching, you can find every thing you will need to get that truck with the 5.3 into the 12 sec range.. If you decide on the ls1 or 6.0 thats cool too.....

Agreed ,,from waht I have read here is can do 12's with heads and bolt ons with the 5.3 ,11's with a 6.0 or LS1. I might just keep the motor stock and add a supercharger.

Why not start out with a cam, verter, bolt-ons and tune... see where you're at and adjust to your goal from there? I think mid 12s is quite attainable with those mods provided they work well with eachother.
